Hello Disciples,
I’d like to introduce myself by telling you a little bit about me. As you
know my name is Shawn Quick, and I’m honored to be your new
pastor here at Disciples Christian Church, I was born and raised in
Butler, Missouri along with my two brothers and sister. Growing up
we all attended First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I was
educated in the Butler schools where I graduated high school. When
I was 13 years old I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior

and was baptized. My faith journey let me to become a Junior Dea-
con, then Deacon and then Elder at the First Christian Church in But-
ler.

In 2012 I began filling the pulpit in Butler, when the occasion was
made available. In 2025 I really felt God’s call to ministry and started supply preaching in

Nevada and El Dorado Springs. Currently I am pursuing to become a Commissioned Minis-
ter in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) by continuing my education. Please be pa-
tient with me as we go through this journey together, ministering to the congregation, our

neighbors in Nevada and beyond.

My full time job is at a credit card bank where my responsibility is working credit card dis-
putes.

I am looking forward to being your pastor and getting to know each one of you. Feel free to
